Happy 2023 - Retirement Ski Trip to Breckenridge
As 2022 comes to a close Janie and I packed up the car with Breck our new addition (Boykin Spaniel) and headed west. I dropped off Janie in Salina for her Great Nephew Kodee Woods's wedding reception and then headed on to Sylvan Grove to my sister-in-law's house to hand with Damon and Rocky (11-month Shepard). Great night watching football and a Breck take on a giant German Shepard. Janet and Janie got home around 10 p.m. so snacked on cinnamon rolls and banana bread. Janie had to get Breck out and soon knew why we had him in the crate.
Thanks, Janet for the Bacon and OJ for a send-off. We traveled to Denver to have late lunch and dinner with Ren and Carrol who came up from Parker, CO to join us. Ted's Montana Steak House just off I70. Great food and always fun to catch up with folks we know around the country.

Then the trek up to Breckenridge and check-in to the Hilton Homewood Suites. Breck had a lot of fun playing in the deeper snow than he has seen as Jeff kept trying to get him to do #2. Not happening.
Early bed and up at 5:30 when Breck needed to get out there and try again. Success!!!
Breakfast and pack up for day 1 of skiing. We hit the slopes at 10:19 and with a one-hour lunch break finished around 2:30. Only 9,171 vertical feet, but welcome to retirement skiing.
After skiing, Jeff dropped Janie off to do some shopping while he did the grocery and liquor store run. Then filled up the gas tank. Picked up Janie and head north to Dillion.
Breck was let out by Donna Henderson (wife of Dave from TubeCo) who live now full time in Silverthorne. Breck was a great puppy according to Donna.

Day 1 Skiing Peak 9 - 9.4k vertical ft
Before Breck ate he asked to go out to do #1, but after dinner forgot to ask about #2. Oops, that's why we have to pay a $75 extra cleaning fee for the week.
Janie made Clam Chowder for dinner and the evening went by fast. Monday night football was canceled with Hamlin's rare heart attack on the field. Hit at the millisecond his heart was about to recover for the next beat. Crazy.
Another on-time for a bed for all!!
2nd Ski Day in Breck
5:30 a.m. wake up by Breck in Breck!!! Potty, breakfast, and play before taking another nap. He has been really good to let us know when he wants to go out. This morning's walk found about an inch of new snow and still flurry's in the air.
Dave Henderson met us in Dillion and spent the day skiing with us. Constant light snow all day that is still coming down upon our return.
Breck was totally hyper, so Jeff took on a long walk to the Dillion Reservoir. Breck loved jumping around in the deep snow. Buries his face in where sniffing for something he might get. Usually a stick.
Leftover clam chowder after sausage and crackers. Left cheese in Sylvan Grove. Damon was thankful via text. The rest of the night was playing with Breck and Janie doing Pic books.
Early bedtime again!!
